We have obtained the results from our first round of water quality testing taken on Monday, April 1,
2019 and are pleased to report that all samples are consistent with the routine water testing conducted
three weeks ago. Meaning the samples taken April 1, 2019 were absent for e. Coli and Coliform
bacteria. In addition, the results regarding the water chemistry were all within the parameters
expected.
The State Division of Drinking Water asked we keep the boil advisory in place until results of the second
round of samples taken on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 pass both the bacteria testing and water chemistry.
We are anticipating results from the lab late afternoon on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 and are hopeful the
second set of samples will confirm what the first round showed and are consistent with the water
samples taken monthly.
Once we hear from the laboratory performing the analysis and gaining approval from the State Division
of Drinking Water, we will notify you that the Boil Advisory has been lifted. We will provide notice via a
hand delivered flyer to each customer door, a posting to our website at www.cottonwoodwater.com,
and let the news media know the advisory has been lifted.
Please know, we have replaced the broken lock and hasp on the tank lid and are currently getting bids
for fencing to be placed around all critical infrastructure currently not fenced. In addition, we are
soliciting help from our SCADA provider to install intrusion alarms on all tank access hatches and
pumphouse doors to better protect the system from future intrusions.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work through this event.
Sincerely,
Cottonwood Mutual Water Company
